Jackdaw Botanics is the creation of Leanne Lythgoe, a bas-relief plaster artist from Somerset. Leanne captures the unique and complex structure of plants and flowers in plaster, creating beautiful pieces of original art. ​An enthusiastic gardener, Leanne likes to work with the seasons and has created collections representing the changes in the year. ​"My work often contains no colour at all and I sometimes prefer it this way as the structure and detail of each part of the plant or seed becomes the main focus. It is such a satisfying process and capturing a particular botanical point in the year is a privilege and then keeping it forever very special." ​Working from her studio at home, where she lives with her husband and children in Somerset, Leanne casts the flowers and foliage foraged from the surrounding Mendips. ​Commissions are welcome, and wedding packages are available.  Leanne will work with you to ensure your bouquet is preserved forever. A range of sizes means that your wedding flowers can be preserved in to gifts for Mothers, Bridesmaids, family and friends. ​Memorial casts are a lovely way to remember a loved one, perhaps flowers from a funeral or a garden.  Leanne can work with your preferences to make your cast unique to you.
